Am I supposed to feel sorry for them?

The Washington Post has two articles on the response to the election. If you're still doing your touchdown dance...

The first talks about the reaction among the Republican talking heads, from depression to outright denial.

The second, from deep in the paper, outlines all the little indignities the Republicans inflicted on the Democrats when they were the majority. (Note the ever pleasing past tense in that sentence.)

Oh, one more, Republicans' Angry Factions Point Fingers At Each Other

Later: RollCall. Out-of-Work GOP Aides Face Tough Road Ahead.

  • "The Democrats beat something last night with nothing."

Keep telling yourself that, big boy.

It's amazing: All through the fall, all we heard was that if Democrats took Congress, the woorld would come to an end? Nancy Pelosi as Speaker? Your children are dead. Now?

No big deal. Hannity said "Hey, every team loses a game now and then." This from the guy who was predicting the Apocolypse.

    Amazing. They can spin anything.

  • Yeah, the Bush pivot is the most amazing thing to me. Yesterday he openly admitted to lying to reporters about Rumsfeld, but I found the answer and tone of the question about calling Dems terrorists much more telling.

And, I think he abandoned the language partially because he has to work with them, but I think the election result also told him that that rhetoric was far outside the mainstream. It's like he suddenly realized just how far out he sounded to the rest of us.
