Foley's priest and other uncomfortable Republican sex stuff
Well, I think we can safely say that Mark Foley wasn't lying when he said he was molested by a priest.
Also: With the rumor of another Republican page scandal swirling, I think I now understand why the DNC is taking out loans to pour money into races.
Another Republican page sex scandal would completely kneecap them at this point. Not only would it dominate the news cycle, but it would reinforce all the negative perceptions among their base.
(And, jeebus, what is with these guys? A current Republican Congressman and Nevada Gubernatorial candidate gets drunk, has some altercation with a woman that includes three calls to 9-11? (Pulling a Sherwood?))

On Foley:
I suppose this might explain why he and his lawyers announced that they would name the priest, but not yet. It gave the priest a chance to come forward.
I like what my (Czech) wife said when I told her that he had been molested by a priest when he was young.
"So what?... well, he should know better then."
Czechs are pretty down to earth.

That's a great answer.
You're right, that sounds like my Czech cousin in law.

Also, note how the sheriff tried to help cover the incident up even though he later admited that the police report the woman made agaisnt Rep. Gibbons (R-Nevada) was "damning."
Also, Gibbons' wife, Dawn, is running for her husband's congressional seat. Will Repubs lose both the congressional seat and the governor's mansion because of this scandal?

I didn't see that his wife was running. That's hysterical.
That must be a great marriage with him hoping to move from Wahington to Nevada, her hoping to head the other way, and him assaulting strange women in parking lots.
Also, there's been some damper on the new page scandal rumor. I don't know what it means, but...
