Johnny Ratz

You can take the pope out of the Nazi party, but you can't take the.....
In a series of Good Friday meditations that he will lead in Rome, the Pope will say that society is in the grip of a kind of “anti-Genesis” described as “a diabolical pride aimed at eliminating the family”. He will pray for society to be cleansed of the “filth” that surrounds it and be restored to purity, freed from “decadent narcissism”.

"Cleansed of the filth," "Restored to (racial) purity?" OK these aren't his words, but when ex-Nazi Johnny Ratz starts talking anything near this, my ears prick up.

  • Have you ever noticed how Pope Ratz looks evil in every single photo?

  • Did you see this one?

Anyway, that was the best one liner I've read on the guy. It's almost enough to make me stop writing about him.

  • No, I didn't see it. I don't keep up with the papacy, it has no impact on me. Only when it intrudes do I notice.

And Pope John Paul was quite critical of the Iraq invasion as well.

    Thanks for the pointer.

  • John Paul II was critical of the Iraq war, but did anyone really notice that in America? His public policy obsessions were primarily sexual and gender related: abortion and homosexuality. Which is why religious American Catholics gave their vote to the Protestant. The media always talks about how JP II wanted more done for the poor and how he was anti-war. But those were 8th or 9th on his agenda. Small wonder that American Catholics didn't notice.

  • Cretainly it wasn't his top priority, but at the same time, he didn't get much coverage even when he made major PR events like the EU meeting.

In the Spring of 2003, it wasn't like the networks were rushing to carry an anti-war message.
