Picture of the Day - 2
More Abu Ghraib photos are out.
Australian SBS did a story last night which contained sixty new pictures, some of the ones involved in the ACLU's FOIA request that is being appealed by the administration.
(The SBS site won't even load this morning.)
These are from the Sidney Morning Herald (they're Flash, so they're a pain to get over to blogger, but I would assume pretty quickly the whole lot will be online.)
Reuters has a 2 minute slideshow/video. (Warning: It's pretty Graphic.) The Guardian has some JPG pictures up.

I recognize that it's a little tasteless to stick a funny piece right before the Abu Ghraib picture, but it happened by accident when I was monkeying with the post times, and I thought it set up the emotional impact of that photo pretty well.
It kind of punctured the strange levity of the current media coverage with one of the realities of Iraq.
A little tasteless, yes, a little manipulative, yes, but I think it strikes at my goal of making Iraq more than a policy debate.

You have found some good sources for otherwise non-reported issues. Great stuff! It is no more tasteless than the media denial that tries to keep us in the mushroom club.
