Thought for the Day - 2
How different would it have been if a healthcare bill had rolled out of the Senate Finance Committee in late June?
1) Committee chairmanships matter. 2) There was no administration supplied "bones" as a startpoint for negotiations.

And this weeks SNL cold open made me wonder, "what if Hillary won?"

I didn't see it.
If Hillary Clinton had won, healthcare would be just as intractible, but with different levers.
There's too much money and too much GOP at stake against it

My thinking was, how much was lost in Obama's effort at "bipartisanship" and post-partisan politics. Maybe nothing would be different. Maybe Clinton's "old school" politics would have forced more change. Or maybe the same old school politics would have just made for faster -- but empty -- "reform."
I really don't know. But it would be interesting if I could manipulate time and space to find out.

I getcha. It's a lost time argument. I could ee that.
On the other hand, Clinton wouldn't have won NC or Indiana or probably Virginia, so she would have come in with far less momentum to squander.
