Actually, the Texas constitution and the arrangement by which the country of Texas became a state does, in fact, allow Texas to reclaim its independence as a country. It'll never happen, but it's there.
And if you want something really weird, we also have the technical option to split ourselves into five separate states.
I don't know how all these thrash out legally, but that's what we're taught in Texas history.
This is not the America I was brought up to believe in.

I thought that you Texans declared sovereignty. Now you are going to pay taxes to the federal government and finance their "oppression"?
