I have a theory that it's the guys who were around when their own kids were small. They know how to handle young kids, whereas the career onlys just don't know how to go at it.
For instance, from this years campaign, great baby pictures with Obama and Hillary Clinton. Bad baby pictures with Giuliani, McCain.
Bill Clinton generally didn't do good baby pictures, George Bush rarely held one that wasn't screaming.
