Palin vs. Johnston

Following up from yesterday, I'm finding it harder and harder to believe Sarah Palin is 2012 viable with the growing Palin/Johnston nastiness.

(Levi Johnston, the "baby daddy," is doing Tyra Banks today.)

  • She may not be viable in a general election, but she could still be viable in primaries... Remember, it's OK if you're a Republican. Only Dems are perverts and sinners...

Republicans don't want to sin. It's all the Devil's fault. The Devil made 'em do it. Dems, on the other hand? Well, they actually LIKE sinning. They LIKE Satan. So it's different, you see.

  • You're right to some degree, but as I noted yesterday, all of this noise will chase off the party heavies and donors, and without them, it'll be hard, even in the primaries.

(Especially if the media smells the weakness.)

  • So Sarah is now kind of in the league of "Jane the Plumber"?

  • I'm not sure, but I can't imagine being a power player and hitching my only horse to her. God knows what might come out next.

  • I guess it depends on how the Republican party decided to define itself: an intellectually honest conservative party, or an extremist revolutionary party.

  • The money folks and topline folks are under pressure to commit early, and with all this hanging out there, they'll be leery.

She may get alot of secondary donations, folks giving to Romney and also her, but I just can't imagine hitching my fortune to that.

And remember, we're talking the savvy power players, not the rank and file.
