Wait a minute, wasn't my party supposed to be the fiscal conservatives?
Mind, I still believe some of the policies that he used to do what he did helped lead to where we are now. Then again, they were not supposed to be allowed to run rampant.
Right. This thought was more intended towards Republican bitching about debt that Bush's policies.
They didn't really make a peep for 5 trillion during normal times, and now, when stimulus spending is recommended by virtually all sides of the spectrum, they're hollering.
Yeah, I spent a lot of time hearing and thinking of the Dems at the big spenders and the Reps as the responsible ones. Was never that interested in politics, and it used to be a lot harder to track this info down.
Now, I look it up, and I find that really, the Reps were just better about talking fiscal responsibility.
For the life of me I do not know why the Dems let them get away with it.
I hve so little respect for the press it is hard to describe, but isn't the point of having opposition parties to point this stuff out?
It reminds me of a married couple I roomed with many years ago. Both were crazy as hell, but they never ever fought about the really crazy stuff, they always fought about trivia.
It almost seems like there is an unwritten rule against seriously drawing someones record into the light. Or maybe, it is just that harping on stupid 'gaffs' and poltical fancy footwork plays better on TV.
There is a big issue with gaffes being the measurement, but there's also political geography at play.
I think this version of the Dems have a tactical problem in that they can't attack the Republicans "from the right" on this one so they kind of have to cede the ground.
This is not the America I was brought up to believe in.
This blog seeks to highlight abuse of power, deception, corruption, and just plain bad ideas in government and corporations.

Very disapointing.

Yeah, but somehow, they're still carrying their "brand," both to the press, and to alot of the country.
