Did you catch his recent comments about 'signing statements' reported in the NYT? Apparently he plans to continue using them, in a limited way, and to reevaluate the signing statements of former presidents.
Yeah. Two separate branches to that. 1) Still using signings statements (which every president has used since Reagan) but promising more limited use and transparency (the way all president's before Bush did it.)
2) To vitiate (correct usage?) all of Bush's signing statements en masse. Now that is a little unusual. Usually that's done like rule enforcement where they are knocked out one by one or section by section. But, again, Bush blew that power to something unprecedented, so....
This is not the America I was brought up to believe in.
This blog seeks to highlight abuse of power, deception, corruption, and just plain bad ideas in government and corporations.
