  • Stuck here in frigid New Hampshire I am SO over winter! The temp got up to 35ºF yesterday -- the first time above freezing in I don't know how long -- and I swear to God it felt balmy!

If I don't get on the motorcycle soon....!

  • Down here, we don't get that much winter, and we could use a little more. When you only have a couple weeks of really cold days, you want everyone you can get.

And before you get snide, remember, we suffer 90+ 100% humidity for months in the summer.

  • I'll take my ass-freezing winter over your mind-baking summers any day! Our summers tend to be humid, but we usually only have one week where the temps get above 90ºF for more than three days in a row.... and the nights are usually moderate. At least in the rural, wooded area where I live.

I consider NJ the "deep south," so I imagine I'd last about a day and a half in a TX August.

  • Frankly, I like it our way. I can go out and play tennis any day of the year.

As an aside, when I had a job with lots of bosses visiting from the midwest and northeast, I'd always invite them down during August, in their wool suits, and find lots of time stuck in traffic, waiting outside, etc, just to guarantee they wouldn't come back.
