Turki al-Faisal rips Bush
Although there's certainly some current politics involved, I'm amazed that an official Saudi is saying this about a Bush. The Bush's, especially Bush Sr., have that special "historical" relationship with the Saudis.
"America is not innocent in this calamity," said Turki, who is the chairman of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies in Riyadh. "Not only has the Bush administration left a sickening legacy in the region, but it has also, through an arrogant attitude about the butchery in Gaza, contributed to the slaughter of innocents.".

I think Turki means every word of it. He knows the clock is ticking for Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

Yeah.
Also, I think publicly "hating" Bush is probably very good for a domestic audience that's pretty unhappy over the royalty's actions on Gaza.

Of course. Obviously the leadership in Egypt and Saudi want good relations with the US but the people on the street are very angry. I imagine Israel is just happy to see Arabs tearing each other apart again.

Well, I think criticizing Bush is fairly costless at this point, ao long as they frame it in the right way and talk about working with Obama.
The few hardline Bush defenders aren't too likely to find their way back to the top of the policy pile very soon. George Sr. is feebled, and Jeb isn't likely going to make it huge.

Turki's article was aimed mostly at Obama IMO. The Saudis keep their radicals on a tight leash.
