  • So Dawson wants to "expose the Democrat Party". It sounds like a continuation of the McCain campaign, only sans McCain. Dawson sounds like the ideal choice.

    Obama and the Democrats do have weaknesses, but they will not be found by probing "socialism", Obama's birth certificate or "Islamic faith", or any secret schemes to hand over the nation to terrorists.

    The GOP is heading into the wilderness, but they are packing their bags as if they are going to a luxury resort. Their craziness was tolerated to a degree because they had power. Now they do not, but they still behave as if they do. When JTP is the primary public figure of the Party, that party is in trouble.

  • And I don't think right now, any Dem weakness will be found in interparty hate and rancor. That's not where America is right now.

    But this Katon Dawson is exactly where that southern wing of the party is. That's where their "base" is right now. The question is how the party elders see things. I think they're too smart to pick this guy even if he does have some support.

    They may end up falling back to current chair Mike Duncan simply because they can't settle on who the alternative should be. The party's split and they may end up picking the status quo candidate even though no one really loves the guy.

    (And "Joe the Plumber" is now enough of a figure to warrant initials? They are in trouble.)
