  • I couldn't figure out this photo. There's so much complexity there.

    I mean Blair shows regret. Have you ever seen regret on a Pres medal winner?

  • I was commenting on the broader perversion of the Presidential Medal of Freedom under Bush.

    But to the photo itself, Blair does look like a man who was made an offer he couldn't refuse. I mean, can you really say "no" when offered the medal? Still, I think Blair and Bush are more alike than not when it comes to imperialist thinking in foreign policy so maybe there's not all that much regret.

  • Yeah, I think as far as Blair is in, he has to take the medal. Can you imagine the press if it leaked out he had refused?
