Observation
Pretty much everywhere data is available, it appears Dems are turning out to early vote in higher numbers than Republicans.
That doesn't necessarily mean a winner, but it is an indication of more enthusiasm and an active Obama ground game accomplishing its goals.

And thus the spurious, phony charges of "voter fraud."
Remember this is the blame everyone else party. The idea that they themselves are the problem simply doesn't compute for them. It's as incomprehensible to them as advanced string theory.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the ex-pats. I know a lot of people that haven't voted in a very long time (myself included) who have already voted (myself included and damn, did it feel good).
The enthusiasm of ex-pats this cycle is like I've never seen.

EPM, voter fraud and suppression work well in small areas, but to pull that crap off across 10 states is another thing entirely.
...
Wow, Lew. How deep did you have to dig into freeper land for that?
...
Praguetwin, I have no data, but I've heard that.
What I was talking about here was not absentee, but show up at the location early voting. Good reports out of NV and NC as well as other places.

I voted this morning.

Congrats. I'm in this kinda small town/enclave kinda thing where the voting is a community thing, so I always wait til election day.

Actually I found the link at another sight. Unbelievable.

Gotcha. I couldn't believe you were digging through the freeper threads.

The more early voting there is, the less chance of voter suppression there is - unless the Republicans are just going to rig machines or stuff ballot boxes. Every early vote cast is another that can't be swayed by a last-minute "October Surprise", too.
One thing about early voting, though:
It could very well mean that McCain will appear to to be doing better than expected in exit polling on Nov. 4, because a lot of Democrats might have already voted.
Also, one of the things that Republicans have consistently placed their hopes in is low Democratic voter turnout. It doesn't seem to be working out that way.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I know a lot of people who have recently been back in the states and took the opportunity to vote early, but I'm not sure if those are the same because they are technically "absentee". I'm sure my mail-in won't be counted until after the election.
By Praguetwin, at 12:39 AM
Todd, Plus, "banking votes" while you're ahead is always good.
As for exit polling, maybe. I get your point, but the folks doing the analysis and projections will likely see that coming.
So, maybe the leaked exit polls might show something, but I'm not sure Chuck Todd makes that mistake on air, you know?
...
Praguetwin, yeah, they kinda are. It varies widely state by state, but in most states, the in person voting is done immediately after the polls close while the mail in stuff is usually left until last.
Again, state by state, but that's how most of them work.
Explanation. In person voting is very standardized and easy to read, while mail ins often take more time to interpret.
