Picture of the Day
Won't somebody answer David Letterman's question. Why suspend the campaign, rather than letting the VP candidate carry the load for a few days?

McSame went "all in" with Palin and it was a pretty obvious bluff. Since this isn't poker but real life the gamble isn't working out and reality is rearing it's nasty non-ideological head.

Well, their tricks are now folding in on each other.
Can't hide Palin from the press and promote her to running the campaign.

She looks like the senior class president on her Washington trip with the high school student government. Frickin' Heathers...
(who's taking care of baby whats-his-name?)

Needless to say, I chose a picture for that effect, but frankly, flipping through the "Palin meeting with world leaders" photos, they were almost all unflattering in one way or another.
Part of it is her, and part of it is the unconscious perceptions of the photographers and editorial staff.

The photos are supposed to confer instant credibility. People know better.

Yeah, it looks like "country goes to town."

I'm just being shallow here, but it's Palin herself who carries the air of shallowness. Her dress (I wish I was still in junior college). Her speech (diction, pronunciation, enunciation). How she comports and carries herself. It's all so Miss America, Trailer Park Edition.
It's Miss Congeniality meets Tracy Flick. (Watch Miss Congeniality and Election)
Again, I know I'm being shallow and superficial, but I just gotta scream it out sometimes....

There's alot of people who feel the way you do, and there's alot of people who find that reassuring somehow.
Of course, there're also people who rewatch it so much, they bought the "blue collar comedy tour" set on DVD.
And then there's Dorf.....

Ha! Dorf!
By -epm, at 10:42 AM
Hey, Dorf taught me how to golf!
By matt, at 11:03 AM
Hey, I understand, but paying for Dorf doesn't speak well to your voting qualifications.
