Biden's value after the election
Little noticed in all the Biden selection coverage is the fact that Joe Biden is one of the those Senators who can get bills through in Washington. As a counter example, Hillary Clinton has many supporters, but also many less supportive on the Hill.
So, when I read things like this,
You gotta wonder exactly how Pelosi and Reid weighed in on the VP selection. Pelosi's issues with Clinton aren't exactly a secret.
So, when I read things like this,
Eager to avoid the missteps that plagued the first months of the Clinton administration, aides to Barack Obama have begun working in concert with top Democrats in Congress to craft a preliminary legislative agenda that would guide the senator from Illinois should he capture the White House in November.

This is refreshing. It tells me that Obama truly has a different view of government, not just policies, compared to Bush, and even Clinton.

Yeah, I see what you're seeing, but to me, it more signifies his governing fear that he needs more pull in the Congress so he doesn't get led around by them.
You know?

You catch more flies with honey? Congressional Dems are unlikely to be the ass-kissing rubber-stampers that the Repubs are for Bush. If he wants to move congress to his agenda, best to have a good working relationship.
Still, you've got to figure two senators (Obama/Biden) have more respect for the legislative branch and the balance of powers than the entire Bush administration combined.

Oh yeah, but they're also not really going to be able to take on the hostile relationship that Bush did.
Obama would pay a political price if he were threatening vetoes on a Dem Congress.
