Tancredo finds it lonely in the GOP's big tent.

Is it that Tancredo really needs some support, or is it that Republicans would rather throw blacks off voter rolls than court their vote?

My nefarious thought is that the leaders don't want it known that they were at the NAACP, a villain to their base, and once they weren't coming, everybody else backed away.
One or two black people in the crowd let the Republicans think they aren't racist, but a whole room of them is scary.
Remember, they chose those voters in the Southern Strategy.
(Bush regularly dodges the NAACP and the mainstream black organizations.)

Of Course, Bush has had 2-5% approval in the black community since Katrina.
