What does it say that fairly credible claims of rendition and the facilitation of torture by the US is no longer the lead in the story?

I think yahoo changed the target of the link, but I know exactly what you mean. This administration has gradually desensitized us to outrages like rendition.

are you referring to the story about US prison ships storing 'detainees' out in the middle of the ocean, where presumably there are no ordinary laws governing their treatment?

Yeah, sorry, either they changed the link or I missed.

I think I screwed up, the link is fixed.

Short version, a new person was charged in the "dirty bomb" plans of Jose Padilla, and there are pretty reasonable charges of rendition to Morocco and torture there.

And, it's buried down at the bottom with little being made of it.

Before Bush, charges of US facilitated torture would have been frontpage everywhere.
