Pass the popcorn
With the Congressional GOP freaking out over their losses,
So, McCain is running away from the Congressional GOP, and everybody is running away from Bush....
It could be a fun fall.....
(PS. Wasn't John McCain a Congressional Republican for 28 years?)
Later: This is particularly funny because the Congressional Republicans are saying that they want to grab hold of McCain to help save themselves.
Another good article on the Congressional GOP's freakout.
(Politico) The GOP will be fighting over money problems, too.
And, Rahm Emanuel even showed up at the GOP meeting to gloat.
But Mr. McCain’s advisers said the Mississippi race underlined his intention to distance himself as much as possible from Congressional Republicans.

The more he distances himself from other Republicans, the more he distances himself from potential supporters and voters.
McCain's message -- such as it is -- is incomprehensible double talk. His "straight talk" has become just empty talk. I don't know what he stands for except for being cantacerously bull-head "damn the torpedos, full speed ahead" plan for Iraq. He probably has the angry white man vote, but even that's not going to hold up once the media stop eating his barbeque....

Plus, you've got the people flaking off on his right.
Also in regards to running away from congressional republicans, he's been one for 28 years.

He's running away from the party base (ie votes) and he running toward...? What exactly.
He's like a man overboard, swimming away from the life saver and out into the empty ocean. I'm not sure hiss really in the game. Is this just a septuagenarian's swan song vanity campaign, or does he really have a vision (and passion) for the future of America? On top of that, his team is a hodgepodge of mercenary politicos and lobbyist. I don't see any true believers in there.

HE's like a frog in the sun. He feels the heat and is trying to skip away. There's not a fully formed plan.
This is why I never believed Clinton's "electability argument."
I don't think this year will even be close.
