'Hope' does have a ring to it. Better than 'Fear'.

True, but again, a billion dollar campaign is reduced to one word.

You may not want to vote for Barack Obama, but who doesn't want to vote for "Hope."

It probably reflects where we're at as a culture. It's aimed at people who can't deal with complex messages.

It's all marketing. The GOP knows this -- or at least the Bush machine did. Stay the course. War on Terror. Fight them there or fight them here. With us or against us. Defeatocrats....

It's all marketing and mindshare. Don't kid yourself on how many people will be motivated by tag lines and pithy phrases.
