It took me a moment to realize the "P" in the upper right corner of Bush's notes stood for President. I was thinking of a different p-word to describe the owner of the notes...

I was amazed that little sentence needed a markup for him.

It occurs to me that prayer isn't so much a virtue as a tool. I mean, you can pray for anything. You can pray that your political opponent dies in a plane crash, or that your mother-in-law gets cancer. Not exactly virtuous.
We would do better to have a National Day of Goodwill, than a day honoring prayer. How about a National Day of Reflection?
Too often, it seems these days, we pray for the death of our enemies than a change in their hearts. We pray that we prevail in war, rather than retreat in peace.
Just some thoughts...

Mike, if he needs to have a script for this little bit of copy, what else does he have to have spelled out for him?
While potentially very scary, any chance you think he might be like Ron Burgundy from "Anchorman" and will read anything that runs across the teleprompter during a speech? I can see his sign-off now:
"Thank you. And go fuck yourselves, America."
