Picture of the Day - 2

With all the focus on the Democrats and their "A list celebrities," no one's asking, "Who won the critical Rip Torn primary?"

  • Rip Torn's all class. From Wiki:

"While filming Maidstone, Torn, apparently unhappy with the film, struck director and star of the film Norman Mailer three times in the head with a hammer.[4] With the camera rolling, Mailer bit Torn's ear and they wrestled to the ground. The fight continued until it was broken up by cast and crew as Mailer's children scream in the background. The fight is featured in the film.[5] Although the scene may have been planned by Torn, the blood shed by both actors is real and Torn was reportedly truly outraged by Mailer's direction.[4]"

No wonder Torn is supporting McCain - they share similar temperments.

  • That's pretty funny. I just remember him as B grade character actor.

It just struck me as a thermostat on the McCain campaign that his "star" was Rip Torn.

  • The real question is who is more relevant now-a-days? Rip Torn or McCain? Hmmm, I honestly don't know! Great blog, by the way.

  • Now that you mention it, I'm not too sure either.

At least Rip Torn will have a career after '08
