Support our troops.

If you haven't seen it already, take a look at the WaPo story tomorrow on the living conditions of wounded soldiers getting out patient treatment at Walter Reed. Read it. It's unconscionable.

  • The most hypocritical stance by this administration and the Republican party is that they back our troops 100%.

They foster hate speech towards those who are against the war by representing that they are unpatriotic, won't support the troops, or are traitors. No, I've never heard the President say that but others in his party do, and it goes undenied by him.

I have been posting since the start:

Why does our government not properly supply our troops if we expect them to fight and die for us?

Why do private citizens pay for bullet-proof vests, or a burn center in Arizona?

Why cut Veterans benefits? - In wartime, no less!

    And on, and on!

It is the Republicans who cried yesterday during the war resolution debate, that they wanted to add a funding amendment to the bill. To ensure that our troops get everything they need, sickly political!

It is the Republicans who do not support our troops, yet send them to die!

It is OUR responsibility to take care of these troops. If that means higher taxes, so be it. We owe it to them! Lets put our money where our mouths are!

I give to Marine help groups. Choose any service, and help them out!

I was against this war from the start, but this issue (above all) makes me go crazy. How hypocritical can our leaders get!

I don't know how Bush can go into Walter Reed, hand out medals, and then sign a budget that cuts benefits for those brave men.

I could rant about this issue for ever. It the sickest kind of political gamesmanship, and the main reason I think Bush/Cheney should be impeached.

I've posted many times about this (with facts) and I know less than 5 people read my blog. Only you will probably read this, but it felt good to rant it out.

  • They hide behind them. It's truly shameful politics at its lowest level.

I have a much shorter version that I use from time to tome.

We have to take care of our veterans. They did their part of the bargain.
