Picture of the Day

2003 - a pro war rally by a young Republicans group.

  • It would be interesting to see how these people feel about the war , and Bush, now that the reasons we went turned out to be complete fabrications.

  • I know. I've wondered that often.

I've had this picture on file for about a year, and it just seemed like the day to pull it out.

  • It would be interesting to see how these people would feel about the war if they actually had to go and fight it. They look healthy enough to me, especially... eh-hem... the redhead.

  • I know. I don't think she'd pass the physical. The woman behind her on her right is carrying a sign saying she's enlisting.

  • I like the Baha'i banner in the top center of the picture. Almost to suggest to the hate-mongers that there is another path.

"So far, humanity has tried everything except unity. Race, nation, sect, or class has always come first.

At the heart of Bahá’u’lláh’s message is His claim that unity can change everything. All around the world, Bahá’ís are coming to appreciate what He meant."

I'm not affiliated but still an interesting juxtaposition.

  • I know nothing about it, and I didn't even notice. You're right, that is interesting.

  • I wonder if that young woman did enlist. I doubt anyone else in this picture felt so inclined.

  • Don't know, I clipped it about a year ago, and it was absent from most context then.
