  • The look on his face is haunting to say the least. It certainly isn't a happy face. Peace be upon him.

  • Sumo, It's just another of those pictures we don't see much.

  • Man. Looks like someone just shot his dog. Bet his wife and kids look even sadder though.

  • Will do. His present mission is convoy security. That is not the most entertaining assignment.

Also, my friend in the Stryker Brigade has not been on AIM since the weekend. When a unit takes casualties, their internet access is cut off. Today, we read how bad it is in Baghdad for US Army patrols.

  • epm, my impression is they take these photos before deployment in the event that something happens. You'll notice a lot of these photos are very stoic. I know my friend had to take one. He also had to write out his hobbies, and he put something pretty obnoxious on that list.

  • For your next soldier/troop profile, I suggest this one.

  • Copy, convoy also seems to be pretty dangerous.

Yeah, this was a "stock photo" taken before deployment. This photo was supplied by the National Guard. Occasionally you'll see a photo supplied by the family.

That story on Adlesperger is really good.

I usually don't seek out specific individuals. I think the randomness better reflects the random nature of it all.
