"This country is better off with Denny Hastert as the speaker, and it will be better off when he is the speaker" in the next Congress, Bush said.

You can tell two things about Bush: when his lips are pressed together, he's pissed; when they're moving, he's lying.

Also notice how rarely he smiles now.
And no little glibness.
And the weird little chuckle/laugh is gone.
It's not fun being a failed pesident.

Good observations, Mike. Bush seems more agitated lately... I'd call it "pissy." It makes him seem even smaller, if that's possible.

He has turned out to be a little man now that he's realized nobody likes him.
His "banter" with the press pool has gotten more bullying and brutal lately, too.

That last sentence though, and I know I'm vote theft paranoid, freaks me out.
And in all honesty- at the same time I don't see how they could pull it off this year. The House is "looking like a walk" and the Senate race is looking better for the Dems everyday, with the exception of Virginia which I expect to go tight as hell when the results start coming out late Tuesday evening But I think they'll steal that one.
Even my state of Ohio had tightened up a couple of weeks ago and Mehlman & crew tossed a few million Dewine's way, but Brown is starting to pull ahead (and strongly) just in the last week or so.
