I don't know why this captured my interest so, but a flight was delayed amidst a "passenger mutiny" until two "Asian men" were removed from the plane.
It's come to this.
And this isn't the only incident.
(And notice the quote at the end. "These men had aroused suspicion because of their appearance and the fact that they were speaking in a foreign language thought to be an Arabic language.")

Yeah.
I think it was that last line that caught me. The intentional inclusion of the phrase "thought to be an Arabic language" tells me it wasn't.
So, basically, these guys were non-white, and they were singled out for it.

Same as the woman with the "explosive" liquid that shut down the West Virginia airport for ten hours.
I hate it and speak out against it as much and as often as I can, but the fearmongering is still working. And that's unbelievable.

The problem is, there is a real threat. It's just that as you point out , that threat has been hyped and not adequately explained in detail.
There's been an intentional effort to cloud the reality for political gain.
Despite all the hype and phantom terror cells, there has only been one incident actually on a plane since 9-11. (Richard Reid.)
It's just not in anyone's interest to calm Americans down. Politicians for gain. Military/contractors for profit, and media for viewership.
Theres no interest anywhere in calming people down or educating them to the realities.
