Well, a little good news of a sort. The street demonstrations against Israel in other Arab countries appear to be pretty small thus far.

Nothing like sending an Iran contra figure to help settle the problems in the Middle East.
The administration really seems to be on its heels during this crisis. Remember how they used to brag about "making their own reality." Now they're wholly and slowly reactive.

It's really amazing, the lack of reaction, but I think they were surprised, and then torn between whether to support Israel, or to support their "new democracy" in Lebanon.
And, Elliot Abrams also was one of the writers of "A Clean Break" which advised the Likud party to follow the current course.
