Plame Gossip
Jason Leopold says the charges against Rove are already written up and that they will be brought to the grand jury next week. This runs counter to some earlier leaks from Rove's defense team that Rove has been told it will be at least ten days.
The other tidbit is that the press will be given 24 hours notice before a Fitzgerald press conference announcing or releasing anything, so we'll probably first hear of breathless mentionsof a press conference.
Two other big pieces on the Rove indictment tonight, Murray Waas has some bits about Rove's testimony, and Firedoglake has an exhaustive look at the article and how it fits into previous interpretations.
It's late, and I'm tired. I'll look at doing fuller posts on it all tomorrow.
As a parting thought, despite Rove's attorney's spin that this testimony was "just clearing up some discrepancies," the growing consensus seems to be that Rove is pretty certainly going down. Good night.

It's possible that Fitzgerald could announce something next Friday. That would be exactly 10 days from the day Rove testified for the fifth time before the grand jury.
I guess we'll know Thursday if Fitz is indicting Friday or not.
As Atrios says, it might be a good time to put some champagne on ice.
Although I suppose Fitzgerald could actually already have the papers drawn up for the indictment and just be giving Rove the week to think about whether he wants to plead or not. In which case, if Rove pleads there will be no indictment announcement.
It sure is fun anticipating this story, isn't it?

Good observation on the ten days.
I would think that if Rove does plead, we would know about it fairly quickly.
I would think that an information would be filed with the court, technically not a plea, kindof a statement of a deal pending the level of cooperation.
BUT, even if the filing were sealed by the court, I would think that Rove would leave the White House and I don't see how that could possibly be kept under wraps.
My gut, since January, has been that Rove would strike a deal of some sort, and that all this is simply an effort to get a no jail time plea. We're now at the end of the process, Fitzgerald has reched the end, and Rove will have to take whatever deal is on the table.
He is not like Libby. He doesn't have the bizarre Smithers/Mr. Burns relationship with Cheney's office. So, as long as he doesn't have to rat on Bush, I think he ends up talking.
