Picture of the Day - 2
Bush's Bubble.
(Also, did anybody else get the absolute bitter irony of Bush at the Gandhi memorial? Especially with that big wreath with his name on it?)
Two more on the India trip. Michael left this about the Gandhi memorial visit in the comments.
Also, be sure to check out this on the comparison between the Clinton India visit in 2000 and the current Bush trip. If you want to see the shift in global opinion Bush policies have brought, it's eye opening.

My boss is Indian and we were just discussing this same thing yesterday. She said Indians love Clinton because he is accessible and shows genuine concern for the poor. Her take on Bush is that he is distrustful and his war has caused needless death.

I agree, Kathy.
I don't see the pathological paranoia of a Nixon, but there are certainly paranoid elements there.
Our current foreign policy is driven by a disproportionate sense of fear. Yes, terrorists should be stopped from attacking, but you have to weigh costs when deciding policy.
And even in a best case scenario, Iraq was not going to do much to reduce terror and yet it carried huge cost and huger risk.

The epitome of war,and ignorance comes to the memorial of his intellectual antithesis. How typical for these times.
