Picture of the Day - 2 (repost from Jan 21)
Thought I'd repost this since proof of Saddam's crimes is back in the news.
We've all seen this picture, but has anyone else noticed that Saddam is currently being tried for crimes committed in 1982, a year before this picture taken in 1983?
Shouldn't somebody, somewhere in the press ask a question about that?
UPDATE: Michael left this wonderful history of Saddam Hussein. Take a look, it's flash with a nice Bing Crosby, "Thanks for the Memories" in the background. Worth a minute.

only if the press hates America and wants to offer aid and comfor to the enemy.
Good little reporters don't ask those kinds of questions, they just blindly reprint or re-broadcast Republican talking points, silly.

about your question RE the pictures. I put one of them up on my blog and was accused of being 'disgusting and pornographic' (in relation to violence). i posted it while i was arguing with someone who said he supported the war and the policy and i wanted to show him the consequences of the actions being undertaken in the middle east.
i felt if he supported the policy then he should see what happens as a result.
obviously, its your choice but i have always believed if the news showed the things that really happens in a war - the mess when a bomb hits a building, mutilated people and all the rest of it, then support for wars would dry up very very quickly.
instead they show CGI clips and talk 'tactics'. i think its vital that people see the gruesome pictures in order to reestablish in peoples heads that actions have consequences and a war is not just something to make the news a bit more interesting.
