It's good to know that the Director of National Intelligence is so focused on keeping me safe.

Negroponte aint a nice guy. He helped train and equip rebels while he was ambassador to Honduras. Many people were taken from their homes and off the streets in Nicaragua (Saddam style) under Negroponte's direction. The people of the region regard him as a war criminal. (note: I served in the US military during that time, and while I was in Honduras conducted security for weapons headed for Nicaragua

Yeah, Negroponte's history is just awful, and it was US policy in Central America in the eighties that brought me to political awareness. There's fair reason to believe that he was sent to Iraq to implement the 'Salvador Option' training militia death squads in Iraq like he did there.
And, Leslie, yeah, that was a really strange episode when Porter Goss was semi publicly uninvited to the daily briefings which had been under the CIA for so long. Technically, Negroponte is supposed to be gathering intel from all the different outfits, but six months ago there were only two people in the "information sharing" office.
And there's good evidence that the Pentagon (85% of intel funding) is not talking to him at all.
