Rapist's Parental Rights Bill signed in South Dakota

Sorry, but in effect, that's what this is. This bill has no exemptions for rape or incest. By the logic, if you were raped, it was god's will. Again, sorry, but this disgusts me. (This article has no real detail, as it's the first "breaking" version.)
PIERRE, S.D. - Gov. Mike Rounds on Monday signed legislation banning almost all abortions in South Dakota.

  • Exactly. That's one of the things about the christian pro life argument that always bothered me, that according to their logic incest and rape are all part of "his plan."

  • Oh boy...HERE WE GO!!! Ugh. I guess Jesus is pro-rape and pro-incest, eh??

  • I'm sorry James, I did not mean to give that impression. I was trying to point out the idiotic extension of the christian side of the pro-life argument.

No, I'm not a big god n' jesus man, but the Jesus that I know about preached love, humility, tolerance, kindness, and forgiveness.

It's just the logic that we are messing with "god's will" through abortion is such a manipulation. The Christian right isn't protesting genetically modified crops or invitro fertilization or any of the other multitude of ways that man "plays god."

Sorry, didn't intend to bad mouth the big guy. I was trying to point out the idiocy of their argument.

    Hope that makes sense.

And, Leslie? Is the argument that they are trying to control female sexuality and try to turn bck the sexual revolution? Although I could debate it both ways, I'm certainly willing to entertain that argument.

Curious. If you accept that, do you think it's an explicit goal, or a larger subconscious manifestation?

  • On the Jesus you remember. This is the Jesus I remember too. And when I bring that up, I get told that that was a 1960s lefty interpretation of Jesus.
