Bush is losing the military?
This is just one poll, so I wouldn't jump to any immediate conclusions, but this, I think, is pretty telling.
Approval of the president’s Iraq policy fell 9% from 2004; a bare majority, 54%, now say they view his performance on Iraq favorably. Support for his overall performance fell 11 points, to 60%, among readers of the Military Times newspapers (85% of those polled are on active duty) .Can you imagine being on the ground in Iraq, going out on patrol, thinking that the whole thing and the guys who sent you there were wrong? Hug a vet. They put up with alot more than danger.
“Though support both for President Bush and for the war in Iraq remains significantly higher than in the public as a whole, the drop is likely to add further fuel to the heated debate over Iraq policy,” the report continued. “In 2003 and 2004, supporters of the war in Iraq pointed to high approval ratings in the Military Times Poll as a signal that military members were behind President Bush’s the president’s policy.”

Here's the rub with the argument about the President and the troops:
1.) you cannot separate the two
2.) the army is all volunteer
In my many debates with supporters of Bush's war, I am constantly thrown these two stumbling blocks.
The latter is particularly cunning. The argument is that 'they knew what they were getting into' while in the next breath one hears, 'you can't support the troops without supporting the President.'
This hogwash has worked well for the propagandists for many, many months. Due to the recent rainy weather, however, this nonsense is beginning to wash off.
One can only imagine what new formula of hogwash that the spinmeisters at the Propaganda Institute of Neocon Policy are preparing for the citizens.
