President Obama hasn't held a full press conference in 274 days.

They all start with good intentions... It would be great if the President (every president) gave at least quarterly press conferences. Kind of a mini status report followed by questions from the press.

Then again, it would be nice if we had real journalists in the room asking pertinent policy questions... Yeah, right.

Well, that's the thing about the formal press conference, unlike those after appearance brief question times.

At the press conference, the press usually comes with one or two good questions as opposed to "how do you feel about....?"
