The NYTimes runs an article claiming the pope knew about the activities of a notorious pedophile priest for a long time.
Not normally my beat, but that seems like a big freaking deal.
But the memo, whose existence was confirmed by two church officials, shows that the future pope not only led a meeting on Jan. 15, 1980, approving the transfer of the priest, but was also kept informed about the priest’s reassignment.
Not normally my beat, but that seems like a big freaking deal.

Religion, politics, business.... It's all the same. The nature of man is the nature of man.
Power corrupts. The more powerful, the more insidious the corruption. And there are few things more powerful than to believe (and have others believe) you are the agent of God and have authority over their eternal souls.
And don't get me started on the psychological constipation Christianity (and Islam) has regarding sexuality and gender.
