And I figure they're always looking for funding and authority.
But, putting a six month time frame on the floor of Congress is newsworthy.

My understanding was that the "attempted attack within 6 months" was simply an affirmative response to a senators direct question "is it reasonable to expect an al Qaeda attack within the next 3 - 6 months." It wasn't like the intel guys were rushing in shouting alarms.

The coverage I saw was pretty strong. It might have been an answer, but I belive I saw the word "certain" there would be an attenpt in 6 montghs.
