Dear God, Will he ever shut up about that rug?

Bush's "Get Motivated" appearance.
Nearly 15,000 people heard the former president, known more for mangling the English language than for his eloquence, reminisce about his White House days. Bush, who is writing a book about the dozen toughest decisions he had to make, used much of his 28 minutes onstage to talk about lighter topics such as picking out a rug design for the Oval Office that reflected his "optimism."

  • "dozen toughest decisions"

I see he's still struttin' around with the codpiece.

Boy is this guy full of himself. A petulant, spoiled, simpleton who sees himself is a giant among men. The weight of the world on his shoulders as the throng of humanity -- helpless without his wisdom -- awaits his near-divine pronouncements. All this from a humble brush-cutter from Texas... Ah shucks.

Not that I'm bitter or anything.

  • I thought this paragraph summed it up. Unprepared, yet full of himself,

"Looking younger than his 63 years and relaxed, Bush did not appear to have an overarching theme, but strung anecdotes and jokes together and frequently mentioned his faith in God. "

  • Okay, but wouldn't you still think he'd quit talking about that damned yellow rug? World leaders, anybody who visited his office had to hear about his rug.

  • Yes but he's talking to the people who will be buying signed copies. They probably think he sounds downhome and folksy.
