Fla GOP chair Jim Greer last Tuesday in a press release,
Republican Party of Florida Chairman Jim Greer today released the following statement condemning President Obama’s use of taxpayer dollars to indoctrinate America’s children to his socialist agenda.

Fla GOP chair Jim Greer yesterday,
"It's a good speech," Greer told ABC News. "It encourages kids to stay in school and the importance of education, and I think that's what a president should do when they're going to talk to students across the country."

  • It was such a good move to post the text of the stay-in-school speech over the Labor Day weekend.

Watching interestedly now for the Wednesday speech.

  • EPM, exactly. Greer also takes personal credit for the speech being so good. If he hadn't complained....

    ....

r8r, As I've been predicting for awhile, it will be a non-event. This is more about screaming than the speech itself.

  • Thought:

The over-the-top, bat-shit-crazy, hysteria over Obama's education speech simply raises the awareness and visibility of the speech. When the actual speech is delivered (and heard/read) The president comes out looking very... sensible. In fact many points he makes are common conservative memes (responsibility, hard work, etc.).

So in the end, a speech that normally would have gone largely unnoticed is now given a national spotlight. And the president comes out, again, looking very... American.

The loons, however, will still have their reserved seat at the microphone.

  • Yeah, I get that, although since the screaming stopped, the speech won't be as big as it could have been.

The press doesn't do afters or setting the record straight pieces as well as they do pre-hype.

The frame will probably be ..."after much controversy delivered a speech..."
