  • I'll sell comics, I guess. I'm shrugging, yet I'm a big fan of superhero comics since the early 60's.

    What bothers me is that people seem to have already decided Obama's meaning, and his place in history, before any of his administration's history has happened.
    I can understand wanting to relievedly flee from the 8 painful Bush/Cheney years, and I can understand earnest hope for a meaningful change to an honorable and upstanding American presence in the world... it just seems too soon to me.

    Those of you who are old enough to remember -- was it this way with Kennedy?

  • I'm not old enough to remember Kennedy, but among his supporters, I understand it was similar.

    Then again, looking back, he was a pretty average president.

    And I think relief from Bush is a big part of the hype. Consensus says Bush was just awful, so there is a great anxiousness to see the next pres as great, so maybe we can dig out.
