Michael Steele won the RNC chairmanship.

Black President. Black RNC chair... What's a racist to do?

A racist, I suppose, will continue to vote for the GOP and pretend not to be one, justifying this belief with the RNC chair appointment.

So does this expand the party or just further divide it? Steele's base, it would seem to me, is not Palin's base. But it's Palin's base that brings the votes, no?

I would vote "c", makes no substantial difference. The idea that Steele brings minorities is ridiculous. RNC chair is so low profile to most of America. Maybe he can trick the news folks into thinking it matters for awhile....
