How can we miss her if she won't go away?

I don't watch the morning shows, but, wow, what a stunt.
Lauer also visits with Palin's husband and kids in the family kitchen, as Palin cooks dinner.

(Palin has interviews today and tomorrow across TV outlets.)

  • It seems to me Palin is seriously over exposing herself. I'm sure she craves the attention. Craves the media spotlight at the same time she rails against it. I don't think moderation is in her vocabulary, as evident by her rhetoric, and he bilking Alaskan taxpayers and then the GOP of money for the benefit of herself and family.

    I predict she'll burn out. Overexposed to the point of tedium and irrelevance. More importantly, the media will burn out.

  • The question is, is she staying in the light as part of a remediation strategy or simply because she wants to?

    For her to undo the image of her as ignorant is going to take a long time.

  • I would guess she's getting pressure to remain visible as a figurehead of that faction of the Republican Party, as part of a longer-range rebranding strategy. But as Mike is pointing out, just cooking dinner and saying 'I'm not dumb. Really!' is not going to be enough.

    For her to undo the image of her as ignorant is going to require she shuts the hell up. Is she managing her won media affairs or is there a political consultant behind the scenes?

    My gut tells me she's running her own media management and that she just can't help herself. She can't resist a klieg light and a video camera.

  • If I were designing her plan, I would keep her in the news until the Republican Governor's association, and let that speech mark the end of this round of rehab, the idea being to get some media distance from all the crap and then let her close with a new face.

    (Assuming she can deliver that speech.)

  • She's already at the Tammy Faye point. Annoying and laughable. The only way she can salvage her image is to croak.
