Political bits
(Politico/TPM) The Clinton camp is issuing alot of outrage, but no real denials regarding the Obama photo that was fed to Drudge.
PS. Hitting on the Muslim resonance is so classy.
(Reason) After having little success defending against Obama's NAFTA attacks, it appears the Clinton camp has decided that the best thing is just to attack back on NAFTA with a mailer. (Who reads the mailers? Do you read the mailers?) Later: Also a robocall.
(CNN) Finally got some polling for Ohio. Clinton +11 in Quinnipiac, +8 in University of Cincinnati, +10 in ARG, and +4 in the less credible PPP. (Movement towards Obama from two weeks ago, but stable with a healthy Clinton lead over the last few days.)
(Politico) Clinton made a "major foreign policy speech" today, and it got no coverage. (As Ben Smith points out, "But then, she's no longer making news, and instead has returned basically to the core message.")
(YouTube) A new Obama ad being run by the UFCW.
Also, Texas polling: Clinton +1 in Rasmussen and a less credible Obama +8 from ARG.
Later: Add one more Texas poll. CNN has Obama +4.
And, (ABC) Bill Clinton on Texas' primary then caucus process. "The doors open at 7 and they close at 7:15. It would be tragic if Hillary were to win this election in the daytime and somebody were to come in at night and take it away."
(Because the legal and procedural process of caucuses is stealing? These were the rules from "Day One"! Why should they not apply?)

Interesting numbers. I'm sure the Clintons have their own internal polling. Maybe this explains Hillary's latest aggressive whacks at Obama that range form lambasting rebukes to sarcastic mocking.
At this point I don't see her attacks being taken too seriously by the opinion makers. They've already moved on to cover GOP slurs and whispers about Barack's patriotism or some such nonsense. And it's getting harder to find the line between Hillary's campaign and the Republican campaign when it comes to attacking Barack.
On 5 March we cold be looking at a whole new landscape. At this point, however, it seems that unless Hillary wins decisively -- and delegate counters say she's gotta win by 20+points just to make a dent in the (pledged) delegate gap -- the story continues to be about Obama's momentum and Hillary's eulogists will continue to sharpen their obituaries.

I saw at another blog earlier a piece on Mark Penn owning a subsidiary co. that runs McCain's public relations/campiagn...So, if true, HRC's campaign head also has an interest in McCrazy's campaign...Penn's hard-on to go negative on OB starts making a little bit of sense now heh? Why isn't this more widely known, if true??

As I've been saying all along, Ohio looks likely to go Clinton, it's Texas that's going to be tight.
And, I don't know if they've moved past this, it's getting coverage pretty much everywhere I go.
(And as the day goes on, I'm getting angrier and angrier about it.)
....
Anon, I saw that too at Americablog, but I don't put too much stock in it. I mean yes, Penn's firm also has McCain as a client, but I don't think that's too much of a factor.
(Interesting it's been brought up now with the Clinton campaign tussling over how negative to go. Discrediting Penn's motives does make his hard negative position tougher to push.)

If, after all the tantrums, kicking of sand and throwing of mud, Clinton loses TX and OH, does this affect her legacy? Does she become politically marginalized to some degree? I mean this isn't how Edwards went out, nor any other candidate I can think of in recent memory.
Her campaign has become that of a bitter shrew... not unlike what I hear from McCain when he gets on a roll.

Whatever you think of the Clintons, those Texas caucus rules, like so much of the Democratic primary process, suck.

EPM, No. if she lose, she's no worse off. The tantrums may damage her some.
...
TG, As a citizen of the state of Texas, I couldn't agree with you more.
We've never had a primary race that mattred in my adult life, and yeah, outside of everything else, it's a pain in the ass.
