Bizarre Bush moment
During Bush's tour of the Holocaust museum in Israel,
Meanwhile, the people of Sudan wait......
At one point, Bush viewed aerial photos of the Auschwitz camp taken during the war by U.S. forces and called Rice over to discuss why the American government had decided against bombing the site, Shalev said....
"We should have bombed it," Bush said, according to Shalev.
In the memorial's visitors' book, the president wrote simply, "God bless Israel, George Bush."
Meanwhile, the people of Sudan wait......

Another proud moment for America. 1-20-09 can't come fast enough.
Bush's message seemed to be more paternalistic than partner on this trip. Will the parties respond to this "I'm here to knock heads together" message? I'm wouldn't think so. In fact I would expect some rather artful foot dragging on the part of all the middle east players, given that Bush is the lamest of lame duck who's foreign policy has little chance of surviving, no matter which party wins in November.

Why would you bomb a camp of civilians? I'm not understanding something here.
Bush like Reagan is just another easily controlled moron. Either through genetics or through age the GOP is never going to elect another president like Nixon or Bush One(they were more than a little bit on the ball). Both of them screwed up all the plans that the special interest groups that helped them get elected wanted them to do.

Bush only know two notes: cut taxes, blow shit up. ANY problem is solved with one of the these two "solutions".
Like the cartoon character who uses a shotgun inside his house in an attempt to kill a cockroach, Bush will (and has) destroyed a country in the name of saving it.

My first thought was how funny that he went to Condi Rice as if she's been fully briefed on WWII war policy.
EPM, I feel confident in saying that nothing will get done.
The US offered the Sunnis, Saudi/Kuwait, etc a chance to supplant the Iranians if they went along with this Fatah only thing.
I don't see how that works among the Palestinain people if their price is to abandon their issues.
....
Matt, It's part of a much larger discussion, but yeah, that's what I thought, too. The argument is that the US should have bombed the gas chambers, but, with WWII bombs, there's no way it would have been that precise.
