I just don't get the whole Chuck Norris thing with Huck. I'da thought Norris would be more of a Giuliani or Tancredo kick-ass type.
Norris' whole thing is this vainglorious self promotion and quasi-religious obsession with martial arts, personal grooming and physical fitness. I don't see how that ties into the Huckabee schtick.

Do you remember those WWII propoganda posters of GI Joe -- his sleeves rolled up, muscles rippling as he protectively holds back an innocent virgin with one arm while blazing his M1 carbine into a horde of advancing "Japs" with the other? Replace the GIs face with that of Jesus and you've got Norris' Christ. It's a common image, I think, among a certain brand Nationalist Evangelicalism... where nationalism is blended with Christology to form a sort of religio-patriotism.

I actually own some of the WWII propaganda comic books, and yeah, now that you mention it, I do see the resemblance.
Maybe it's that I never watched Walker.
Maybe it's that I remember him from such films as the Octogon, Delta Force, and Sidekicks.
