I know it's a disaster over there and a huge clusterf#ck just waiting to blossom...but the thought of beating lawyers doens't necessarily generate a lot of sympathy...philosophically speaking of course...altho the thought of actual democracy-loving activist lawyers demonstrating in the streets of USA seems as likely as pigs flying...

True. But in Pakistan, the courts have been the main lever of the educated urbanites against the half century of military rule.
