Picture of the Day

As part of the continuing unsubstantiated "Bush is drinking" conspiracy, let me ask this: Who wraps their entire beverage in a napkin?

It definitely doesn't look like the prominently placed (and unwrapped) bottle of water from elsewhere in the game.

Happy Birthday, Mr. President.

  • oh, you muckraker you!

let the poor man have a drink

after all, his record is completely unblemished in every other regard.

  • Or maybe looking at it another way,

How much worse could his ecision making be?

Seriously though, I don't know if he's drinking or not, but as long as he's not sloshed, it's not really that big a deal except that it makes a fun game of cat and mouse.

  • If he were drinking again, he would be hiding it by doing it in private, not by putting a napkin around a beer in public.

The better theory is that he is drinking when he disappears from view for a few days (as he sometimes does around Christmas and his summer vacation), makes no public appearances and then when he returns to public life, he looks shaky, his face is bloated and he's got bruise marks or cuts (always, they say, from pulling brush!)

I suspect Bush is what they call a "periodic alcoholic" - he can go long periods without touching a drop, but every once in a while he goes on a bender (always in private and away from view.)

You'd be surprised how many periodics there are in any given AA meeting. Unfortunately for Bush (and the country), Bush isn't one of them.

  • Ahhh... You favor the Putin model.

I'd buy binge drinking, although I really don't know. Binge drinking would fit philosphically with the sinner/rebirth nature of his religion and psychology.

I'm not committed that this picture marks anything, it's just curious, you know?
