  • Boy, Pakistan's be smacked around by Mother Nature quite a bit over the past view years... Eathquakes, floods. And yet Iran? Nuthin'. What is God telling us?

  • All snarking aside, this is really a human tragedy that just isn't getting the attention it deserves in the American press.

  • Well, there was the earthquake in late 2003 in Bam, Iran that killed something like 35-40,000.

But, yeah, it's being lost. Interesting really. Three largely foiled terror attacks in Britain get constant coverage.....

  • I'm embarrassed that I didn't recall the Bam earthquake...

But we are on the same page regarding the warped world view delivered to the American public through the MSM.

  • It's not surprising. Iran is "the enemy" and didin't even get that sympathetic of coverage in the middle of that massive disaster.

The main reason it sticks in my mind was because I viewed it at the time as an opportunity missed. The US and Europe could have made such inroads if they'd flowed in aid, but at that point the Bush administration made token offers of search teams, but really limited what was offered through conditions and red tape.

That was christmas 2003 when this administration thought it could topple Iran just like it thought it had taken Iraq.
