Smykowski on the one-year anniversary of his death at the same time Anzack's funeral was nearby. Anzack was one of three soldiers were missing, whose the body was found in the Euphrates River in late May. Smykowski was killed in Iraq when a roadside bomb detonated near his vehicle.
